MusicCenter widget for Notification Center in iOS5

So the hot thing right now is the Notification Center widgets in iOS5. I am in the process of writing a new widget called MusicCenter. This widget will show the current track info that the iPod is playing. I am also planning on adding more features like “tap to tweet”, music controls, and other track info like rating, duration, etc.

What features would you like to see in MusicCenter? Leave your comments below!

So here is a little sneak peak at the up coming widget:

  2. It’d be great to be able to select what Music app would it display (don’t know if it features it already).

It’d also be great to have some music controls. You could implement that by scrolling over the song title in the Notification Center (just like you do with any tweet in the Twitter.com mobile version).

  7. that star rating website to be accessible coz going into the ipod app and switching to tracklist to haveto rate the song takes too long this would be make rating soooooo easy

  8. sorry i cant wirte

that star rating section to be accessible. coz going into the ipod app and switching to tracklist to haveto rate the song takes too long this would be make rating soooooo easy

  9. This is a fantastic widget. A couple things that could make it better:

The white stars that show when a song is not rated are confusing. Any white stars should just be small dots, like in the Music app.

Being able to actually rate the song would be killer!

When there is no music playing, this widget should not appear in notification center. It takes up valuable screen space and serves no purpose.

The playback buttons are tiny and awkward looking, they also should emulate the iOS interface.

    Consistency with iOS is key.

    • Pulse is a big progress and hainvg it now available for iPhone is just great (without Host checker though). The big problem I have is that MSI package installation workflow is somewhat broken: even if my SA is configured (under System -> Options) not to upgrade Junos Pulse clients automatically, it does. It’s a shame. I want to have Pulse installed by SMS, and the MSI package is doing the job. The only problem is that the TNC Client Plugin is not included: this is triggering the client upgrade even is the appliance is configured not to do so.I have a JTAC open for this and I hope to see a version where plugins are included in the MSI package if the REALM configuration has (e.g.) Host Checker configured Or maybe I am wrong with my configuration Well, I am waiting for JTAC since September the 14th; I hope they can find something Nevertheless, your blog is in my bookmarks. Keep on the good job!

  10. Tracked down this page in order to give the exact same feedback that Dace already did above.

The biggest con is that fact that it widget still appears when no music is playing. :/
